Well, here's the recipe I use although I have to admit I
don't usually measure everything.
SEVEN LAYER BARS
1/2 c. Butter or Margarine (1 stick)
2 c. Graham Cracker Crumbs
1 can Sweetend Condensed Milk
1 c. Semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. Butterscotch chips
1 c. flaked coconut
1 c. chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 350. I make these in the pan I bake them in. Melt the
butter in a 13 x 9 pan (my mother-in-law uses a slightly smaller pan for
a thicker version). Roll the pan around so the melted butter is evenly
distributed then sprinkle evenly with the graham cracker crumbs. Press
down on the crumbs to sort of form a crust. Pour the sweetened condensed
milk evenly over the crumbs. Next sprinkle the remaining ingredients
evenly over the sweetened condensed milk in the order shown. Press them
lightly into the milk then bake for approximately 30 minutes till bubbly
and edges start to turn brown.
You can use a larger amount of the toppings based on your own taste. Like
I said I rarely measure, I just toss the stuff on till I think there is
enough!
